Amit Mukherjee - Lodge Manager

Amit is a go-getter and everything from a fly to a rodent interests him. He realised his true calling (no pun intended) and left behind the cushy comforts of luxury to pursue his love for wildlife and the jungles. He has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry from ITC Hotels, Intercontinental Group of Hotels, Fortune Park Hotels Ltd etc. He was the F & B Manager for Fortune Park Hotels Ltd, before he decided to change gears and moved to Pugdundee Safaris as a Lodge Manager. He currently spearheads the operations for Kings Lodge, Bandhavgarh.
His repertoire for the flora and fauna of the forests has us believe we have a naturalist in the making!!

Naresh- Senior Naturalist

Naresh hails from a small village on the fringes of Bandhavgarh national park. He grew up with the tigers, monkeys and snakes not unlike TARZAN. He refers to the animals as his friends and good neighbours. The ever affable Gudda (as he is affectionately known) has been with The Kings Lodge and Pugdundee for more than 11 years now. His expertise, local knowledge and skills have been amply noticed and awarded. A mentor and great inspiration for his fellow locals in Bandhavgarh, he has advised and guided world renowned photographers in Bandhavgarh on their many visits here. He has been lauded and often featured for his efforts in tiger conservation.

Raju Gurung - Senior Naturalist

The world’s most preferred wildlife destination is Raju’s home now. Originally from Chitwan, Nepal. he belongs to a family of naturalists and is four years old with Pugdundee. His 15 years of experience with Tiger Tops, Nepal is an added impetus. An ace tracker and an avid birdwatcher, he has thorough knowledge about the local flora and fauna of the hills as well as plains. He is currently based at Kings Lodge, Bandhavgarh and has also shared his experiences at Denwa Backwater Escape, Satpura.

Raj Kumar - Asst Manager

Raj Kumar wears many hats at The Lodge. He is often spotted with a smile on his lips and song in his heart, to ensure guest satisfaction. Though with Pugdundee Safaris for only 8 years with his initial 03 years at Kanha Earth Lodge, he is quite indispensable at The Lodge. Front office and accounts being his forte. He also oversees lodge operation and forever looking at learning various skills set at the lodge.

The brain behind the organic kitchen garden he is a master at rustling up authentic, local delicacies in a jiffy. Extremely passionate about seasonal and regional cuisines, he is an expert in Continental and Indian cuisine too. Never one to disappoint, he is the go-to-person for any specific dietary requirements. Soft spoken and a man of few words he has completed 12 years at Kings Lodge.

An expert in the local flora and fauna, Ramesh is a local expert who has been born and raised in the villages of Bandhavgarh. His stories and anecdotes about the jungles are legendary. He is most sought after as a passionate guide who can enthral you on village visits to educate on local customs and habits. Its an exemplary example of a boy next door being groomed into an outstanding guide.

Sanjay - Naturalist

A new bird in our flock but his expertise is not limited. A keen learner, he spends most days reading up and learning about Bandhavagrh as much as possible. He can be found with his camera and notebook in hand, taking copious notes and listening to and observing other naturalists.

Ken River Lodge made a humble start in 1986 - one of the pioneers of wildlife tourism in the country.
