Bandhavgarh is located in the heart of Central India in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh. It is the best place to see Tigers in the wild and amongst the easiest Tiger reserves to reach in India. One can easily reach Bandhavgarh by road from major towns like Jabalpur, Khajuraho, Katni, Rewa, and Allahabad. The road journey towards the end is through beautiful forests, jungle villages, and stunning landscapes. One also crosses Bandhavgarh National Park and its three important gates – Magdhi, Khituali and Tala. Bandhavgarh is also well connected by road with Kanha & Panna National Parks. When coming from Jabalpur one can stop enroute to see Fossil National Park, Ghughua near Shahpura.

Bandhavgarh can easily be reached by air from all major cities in India including Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi and Hyderabad.

  • Jabalpur is the closest airport to Bandhavgarh and is about a 4-hour road drive.
  • Khajuraho airport is 5 hours away and also a convenient airport specially when combining this beautiful temple town in your travels with Bandhavgarh.
  • There is also an option of taking small private charter planes to Bandhavgarh from major cities in India to Umaria airstrip. Umaria is about 45 minutes from Bandhavgarh and Kings Lodge.

  • Umaria is the closest railway station from Bandhavgarh (1 hour) followed by Katni (2 hours) and Jabalpur (4 hours).
  • Katni is a major railway junction with trains coming from all parts of the country including Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkotta.
  • For guests travelling from Delhi it is best to takeChatisgarh Sampark Kranti to Umaria or M.P. Sampark Kranti to Katni.

⦁ Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve is well connected by rail, allowing easy access from major cities in India. Umaria is the closest railway station (1 hour) followed by major junctions Katni (2 hours) and Jabalpur (4 hours).

⦁ Bandhavgarh National Park is approximately 180 km from Jabalpur and can be reached in a span of 4 hours by road. Jabalpur is well connected by air and rail with major Indian metros.

⦁ Guests travelling from Delhi to Bandhavgarh can take the Chhattisgarh Sampark Kranti to Umaria station, which is an hour away, or the M.P. Sampark Kranti to Katni station, located 2 hours from Bandhavgarh National Park. From the station, taxis can be arranged for drop off to the lodge or park gate where the safari permit is booked for.
